Dr. Riya Philip completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) with clinical honors in 2021. She further pursued her residency training at Lexington, VA, in Lexington, KY. She specialized in ocular disease with an emphasis on low vision rehabilitation, specialty contact lenses, and traumatic/acquired brain injury.
During her clinical externships, Dr. Philip received training at the Illinois Eye Institute, Michiana Eye Center in Indiana, Villages VAMC in Florida, and Barnes Crossing Vision Center in Mississippi. While at ICO, Dr. Philip received the Best Tutor and Low Vision Service awards. She is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity.
Dr. Philip focuses on patient relationships and specializes in primary eye care/ocular disease, urgent eye care, contact lens fitting, and low vision rehabilitation.
Dr. Philip loves reading, traveling, and exploring new restaurants in her spare time.
